KIREI VI 22 HD L3

About this item

KIREI VI 22 HD L3 is a premium shear-stable OCP-type polymer (ethylene-propylene copolymer), pre-dissolved in VHVI-4 base oil (8.5%), designed for use as a viscosity modifier in all-season heavy-duty engine oils with extended drain intervals of the following classes: API CK-4/CJ-4/CI-4, ACEA E9/E7/E4/E6, MB 228.51/228.5/228.3, MAN 3477/3277/3275, Cummins 20078, Caterpillar ECF-3, and others.

The viscosity modifier provides excellent rheological performance combined with outstanding oxidative stability. It demonstrates very low pour points, low-temperature CCS and MRV viscosities when blended with most pour point depressants. Due to its optimized thickener concentration, the solution has excellent flowability, simplifying blending with base oils and additives, ensuring more precise dosing, and reducing processing losses.

KEY TECHNICAL ADVANTAGES

30% longer oil life – Thanks to its high shear stability on the Bosch rig (SSI=20), engine oils based on KIREI VI 22 HD L3 remain in their viscosity grade (Stay-in-Grade) for extended periods, ensuring stable oil pressure and reducing wear in high-load engines.

20% less engine wear – Owing to its superior shear stability, KIREI VI 22 HD L3 maintains high high-temperature high-shear (HTHS) viscosity, ensuring the oil film retains its thickness, reducing friction and wear even under elevated temperatures and loads.

15% better low-temperature properties – Unlike granular OCP viscosity modifiers, KIREI VI 22 HD L3 contains a lower ethylene content (51% vs. 65–75%), which reduces the tendency of ethylene segments to co-crystallize with paraffins in base oils at low temperatures. This results in improved CCS/MRV pumpability and reduces the need for fine-tuning of pour point depressants.
