KIREI SV 260 is a premium shear-stable hydrogenated styrene-diene (HSD) polymer designed for use as a viscosity modifier in all-season, heavy-duty engine oils with extended drain intervals of the following categories: API CK-4/CJ-4/CI-4, ACEA E9/E7/E4/E6, MB 228.51/228.5/228.3, MAN 3477/3277/3275, Cummins 20078, Caterpillar ECF-3, and others.
This star-shaped viscosity modifier demonstrates very high shear stability and delivers excellent viscometric performance combined with outstanding oxidative stability. It exhibits very low pour points, as well as low CCS and MRV viscosities when blended with most pour-point depressants. Compared to standard OCP thickeners, it reduces thickener consumption by up to 60%.
40% longer oil life – Thanks to high shear stability in the Bosch test (SSI=11), engine oils formulated with KIREI SV 260 remain in their viscosity grade (Stay-In-Grade) over an extended period, ensuring pressure stability and reducing wear in heavy-duty engine systems.
30% reduction in engine wear – Due to its resistance to mechanical degradation, KIREI SV 260 maintains high viscosity at high-temperature/high-shear (HTHS) conditions. The oil film retains sufficient thickness, reducing friction and wear even under elevated loads and temperatures.
15% better low-temperature performance – Its star-shaped molecular structure and absence of long paraffinic chains provide improved CCS/MRV pumpability compared to conventional OCP thickeners.
