Octylated-butylated diphenylamine is an octylated, butylated diphenylamine antioxidant for use in mineral and synthetic base stocks that are typically employed in lubricant applications. It's high nitrogen content and liquid form allows for incorporation into high performance passenger car and diesel engine oils, automatic transmission fluids, marine diesel oils, industrial oils and greases.
Octylated-butylated diphenylamine provides good protection against degradation due to heat andoxygen. High performance transportation and industrial lubricants can be developed using Octylated-butylated diphenylamine as the amine portion of the formulation. Octylated-butylated diphenylamine may used in combination with other antioxidants such as alkylated diphenylamines, phenyl-α-naphthylamine, and/or hindered phenolics.Typical treat levels may range from 0.05 to 1.0 percent by weight. Typical uses of Octylated-butylated diphenylamine include engine oils, industrial oils, automatic transmissionfluids, tractor hydraulic fluids and greases.
